Katie’s first day of kindergarten
Katie is going to a year round school here in Morrisville and she recently had her first day. She was being brave and wanted to ride the bus. Mommy and I tried to drive her but she wanted it. It was a lot harder than I thought it was going to be to let her get on the bus with a driver I didn’t know and go to school with kids I didn’t know. I had flashbacks to my first day of school where I was show my first pictures of a naked lady by some kids in the back of the bus.
But she jumped right on. I have to admit that me and Lori followed the bus in the car and walked her down the hall.
It seems like she was born, we blinked, and now she is in school. I hope that school to graduation doesn’t happen as quickly.
Man, kids grow up fast.
Lake House 2010
The family all packed up and went up to Grandma & Grandpa’s pray cabin for a week of fishing and relaxing. The girls went fishing (kind of) and got to play with their cousins. Spent time at the beach and having fun.
That’s not how boys fight
We noticed the differences between boys and girls this week because our girls (very girly) and Lisa & Rocky’s boys have completely different ways of playing. Donovan and Gavin were fighting with each other in the back seat and grandma pulled over and put Katie in the middle to keep them from fighting.
“I can try.” She said.
Once again Gavin whacked his brother and Katie interjected, “Just because he hits you doesn’t mean you have to do something mean back.”
Gavin looked confused and then responded. ”That’s not how boys fight.”
