I’m a creative.

One of the things that makes me excited, that I’m passionate about is inspiring creatives to leverage their talents and technology to tell better stories through media.

I don’t consider myself to be an expert, but I am a practitioner. I live in this field, I work in this field, this is what I think about, this is what I’m passionate about.

We need creatives. I think it’s incredibly important. I have been reading a lot of books on creativity lately and they seem to have common themes and this is one of them. The idea that the climate is changing. The assembly line mentality of a lot of jobs where you sit in your portion of the cubicle jungle and push your button or add your element to your company’s product and then you push it on down the line for the next person. That model is suffering right now and we need creatives to help bring innovation and new ways to help organizations get to the next level.

So that’s good news if you’re a creative person! That means your organization needs you. They might not realize it right now, but they need people who are willing to think outside of the box.

There is that bit of conventional wisdom that says, “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” and most of the time that is right, but the problem with that operating under that mentality is that you don’t innovate. You don’t create new ideas because the ideas we have right now are working.

That’s not how the rest of the world is working. They are approaching things from different angles, innovating and coming up with creative solutions and bringing them to the marketplace which is making yours obsolete. So, if you’re one of those people who likes to challenge conventional wisdom than welcome to the family of the creatives.

We need you.
